Journal Sleep recently published a study by the researchers of American Academy of Sleep Medicine which elaborated the link between the sleep duration and the depression. We can be healthier if we prioritize our sleep. This was a genetic study of adult twins and a community-based study of adolescents and both reported links between sleep duration and depression. If we optimize sleep then we can improve the effectiveness of treatments for depression. The study brings that sleep deprivation may be a precursor for major depression in adolescents to our notice.
